It's Cold Again
It’s cold again. The brisk air travels through the seams of my clothing as I walk out the door. I feel my skin tighten and my hairs stand stiff. It’s quieter than usual. The cold is dense. I can’t hear the cars drive by or the chatter of my neighbors. I can’t even hear my own thoughts. It’s peaceful. As I start walking, all I hear are the muffled claps of my steps on the concrete. As I’m moving, enjoying the silent peace, a thought breaks through... I hope she’s happy.
